Planted a deer/turkey mix a couple of weekends ago. I'm headed down to see how badly the deer have torn it up. Rarely do we get much to grow more than an inch tall. There are just too many deer that are too hungry. I'll water, if we didn't get rain.
Ahhhh...ranch time....a nice 4 hour drive...a few sudsy beverages when I get there...and lots and lots of stress relieving nature.

i planted a small test square to see if a mixed bag from academy would work with my soil. It rained lightly so hopefully it sprouted. If it did ok i will start working on the area making a larger plot in hopes to find a buck in the area.

I've plowed my plots (around 20 acres worth) twice now and will let them rest for a couple of weeks. Then we will plant Iron and Clay peas along with Laredo soybeans.

With the recent rains the wheat is starting to look like it might make, so I'm gonna hold off turning it under and planting anything else. Have some small food plots I may put a spring plot in though.
