http://cjonline.com/news/2012-...nced-illegal-huntingI was working up in KS last fall and was in a court house when some LA guys (oil field related) came in looking to buy a hunting licence. They didn't realize that in KS you have to draw a tag in the spring to hunt in the fall and they basically said they didn't care. I told them flat out, that "this isn't Texas, you can't just get a licence over the counter and go hunting" but they acted like they were going to do it anyway. I hope they get a couple of years each.
I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

Not untypical for a large percentage of Louisiana hunters. Hopefully they got an education. Not that it will slow them down any.

Your link is not working but yes in the last couple of years the KDWP game wardens have nailed a couple of large outfitters for illegal hunting practices. Not sure if this is what your post was in reference to.

It looks like they initially convicted the outfitter and then went back and charged everyone that bought a hunt from him. These guys in the article, just hunted with the outfitter, so far 25 of 30 have been convicted. I have no sympathy for them, just pointing out that the old days of just prosecuting the outfitter, are over.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

They've pretty much charged everyone past the point of the Feds getting involved.

I hope they get a couple of years each. yeah what they did was wrong but don't you think this is a little stereotypical here? I work my butt off in the oil field and so do alot of other hard workin' men. We are not all poacher's though or bad guy's. Just tryin' to make a livin' for our families. If a bank robber rob's a bank and he is a wal mart worker I would not associate wal mart worker's as bank robber. More so just a couple of idiot's who listened to the wrong guy and got screwed on a deer hunt. Who know's the landowner may have told them they didn't need anything to hunt and yes ignorance is no excuse to the law that's why they will pay now. I just think the stereotypes were a little out of line. I know some good hard workin' people from LA and the Oilfield doesn't mean they or myself should be classed in with these 3 guy's who made a mistake. Yes i put myself cause being an oilfield hand I took it personally the second I read it. I'm an honest conservationist's who does it all by the rules and only harvest's the deer that need to be harvested and all game is consumed and legally processed. Wouldn't be happy if someone said "yeah theres Keith, he work's in the oilfield he must be a poacher"

I didn't read it that way at all. It sounded like to me it was just a statement of fact that the reason they were in the area was for oilfield work. Wow, thin skin.

Did they say they were goin to hunt deer, or just hunt. Big difference. Also, locals are real big into road huntin and poaching. If they were plannin on huntin deer, they very well could be huntin with some locals.

25 of 30? How many more customers they didn't go after? Each hunter is ultimately responsible for having the proper license and tags. I just can't imagine that 25 didn't.

A lot apparently. Seriously sounds like they couldn't get much evidence prior to the federal agents infiltrating the outfit.

Because you don't need a feeder, there's more of them, and it's usually cool enough to hang them in the garage. Down side - rifle season is something around 10 days long. Why would anyone hunt deer in Kansas?
