 any good places for quail around Freestone/Limestone county?

Just like the title says. Family has some land all around in those areas. Just wondering if a new to bird hunting person (me) would have any luck out around those areas. Any info is appreciated.

My wifes family has a farm south west of Palestine. It had birds in the late eighties, but I havent seen any out there in the past 10 years. I suspect the same one county west of there.

Are you looking for wild quail or a preserve?
I've hunted Freestone in the past couple of years, not one quail in the 2000+ acres I hunted.

I've hunted Freestone in the past couple of years, not one quail in the 2000+ acres I hunted. wild quail. Ive noticed there is a serioud shortage of them around where we go to check on the cattle/etc. I remember when i was a kid they were all over. Not so much anymore. Best to take up doves i guess.

Hunted in Freestone county for almost 20 years and never saw a quail. Hunted off of 84 and up by RC reservoir.

Haven't seen a quail except the ones we put out and they don't last very long.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

There used to be. We have a place in Ellis County west of Ennis. Haven't flushed a wild covey out there since the mid-eighties.
I did see one run across the road two years ago.

I have quail and a place to train and shoot in Poetry, Texas 35 miles east of Dallas.
A licensed Private Bird Hunting Area and a licensed Game Bird Breeder with 45 acre field with perfect light cover and 4 ponds.
Trying to start bird dog owners and quail hunters business close to downtown Dallas.
Will have reasonable quail hunts in a few weeks and cooler weather. Now releasing quail for dog training and refreshing.
I only catch birds at night time.

I have not seen a quail on my ranch east of Fairfield in 10 yrs.
