It has been so long since my wife and i have shot a .22 we are not up on all the new ammo.We want the usual for just plinking but any suggestions on animal shooting ammo for a long rifle round?

try cci stingers, they are kind of pricey but d*mn good bullets, they group better than anything else in my 10/22. Remington makes a similar bullets called the yellow jackets. They are either .32 gr or .34 gr compared to the normal .40 gr.

For just messing around, I don't have any problems out of my federal #510s. Dad swore by the yellow jackets. The internet commandos seem to perfer the winchester dynapoints. I think there is forum called rimfire central that these guys talk up the best ammo.
