I shot this deer in Stonewall county about four or so years ago. Biggest buck I have ever killed. Main frame ten with some extras. He cheated me on main beam length is about it. The rest is exceptional. Kickers off of both G2's. Really heavy and great tines.

This guy did not come to the feeder either, but skirted it with a doe. She got him killed for sure.

I hunted Stonewall and Kent in the late 90's. Some really great deer at that time on some of the ranches. Great looking buck!

Its funny, the place we were hunting was full of oak and loaded with acorns. A friend had a place about 15 miles north that was just mesquite. The deer size was way different. The body size on ours out weighed his by a good 50-75 lbs average, and often more. He had a lot of deer, just not the feed. That county has some killers there in the rite areas. Sure wish we still had that lease. Lost it last year when the land owner leased it out to a rancher who wanted all rights to it. Cant blame him for doing that, but I will sure miss that place after managing it for 5 years. We are starting all over again about thirty miles to the west on a really large ranch now. Hopefully if all goes well here we will have a long term lease we can manage properly. It has some great bucks on it as well....

It was funny, in the heavy shinnery country we had few deer visit feeders on really wet years. The place was overloaded with deer, they just did not feed at feeders that much due to the amount of acorns and other native feed. But it sure does grow some big deer....

Yep they like it but seemed like the bigger bucks were in and out of it where the younger bucks stayed in at all times.

That is funny. Good discussion topic, but we would see a lot of nice mature bucks pre rut, but few after or during rutt. When you did it was flashes through the thick parts after a doe. It was like they kept the does holed up in their bedding areas until they were bread. Happened this way every year.

Yep, we hunt in Fisher and are surrounded by shinnery. Even the does are big.
