I've spent the last few days refinishing all the cabinets in our house, getting ready to put new floors down. They started as regular stained oak, I stripped & sanded them, primed, two coats of eggshell oil enamel, and two coats of rag rubbed glaze. I wanted to just paint them, but the wife wanted an antique look.

Looks good! How hard was it to get the original finish off? I've been thinking of changing the finish on our kitchen cabinets.

Not very hard, just sand the flats and give it a good coat of Paso or another good deglosser.

I remember my mom antiquing the kitchen cabinets back in the 60's or 70's. Bedroom furniture, cedar chest, if you stood still very long she would antique you too!
