good luck finding the owner, but ridgebacks can cover a lot of ground ,and this guy has probably done this before. they disappear for days so the owner sometimes, especially if he's on a ranch want even begin looking for him for a few days and he may be from a county away possibly. so give the owner sometime and hope that dog don't eat you out of house and home.

Hope you find the owner, if not you may have a new hog hunting buddy. At least he won't climb a tree, when things go south. Did you ever get your cousin out of that tree?

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

i can honestly say I have seen a ridgeback climb a solid 15' into a cedar tree chasing a coon. I had to follow the dog up and drag it out, not a pretty scene

You may take him to the vet and see if he has been microchipped.

yeah i agree the only way to hunt hogs is up close and personal.and if you get to keep that ridgeback that will be a great dog to run em' with.
