Recently someone posted a link to a product that goes across the front of the roll cage of a side x side for a gun rest. Last weekend my buddy shot a yote from my Rhino with nothing to rest the 22 mag on and I feel he was very lucky to hit the target. This morning I found that WEB site for the shooting bar and they wanted $140 + shipping for it so being the cheepskate that I am I set out to make one myself and did so for $30. I got one of those cargo bars like you use in the bed of a pickup from Northern Tool for $24. The screw out type, not the ratchet type. The two rubber covered end plates I stuck in my vice and cupped the plate a little so I had a semi-V. I then covered the rod with a $6 piece of plumbing foam like you wrap pipes with in winter that I bought at Home Depot. $30 and I have a very good gun rest on the front of my Rhino that is easy to put on and take off. You gotta love a Bubba.

Gotta love it when you can build it yourself or fix it yourself. Oh yeah and it saves you some money

Have same setup as Bubba and wrapped with swimming noodle and camo tape. Added one of the Koplin dual gun holders to cradle guns when traveling. Works great - shot many a coon at night using it for rest.

Ranger Man, from the looks of the lump in the middle of your shooting bar you must have used the ratcheting type cargo bar. I went to several auto parts stores and that is what they carried but I finally found the twist type at Northern Tool. It works kind of like a turnbuckle. If I remember right, the ratcheting type was a bit more expensive.

I wonder if I can adapt this to my tractors? If you got a roll cage with 2 bars infront of you I don't know why not. The bar I bought will adjust from 40"-70".
