I'm in the market to buy & getting ready to pull the trigger. I had pretty much decided on buying a 48v electric golf cart & upgrading myself, but I'm still looking at the Bad Boy Buggies also. I've priced the new carts + some of the accessories vs a new BBB ready to go and I'm still undecided. I don't need a work horse with a lot of torque etc, I'm pretty much running on flat ground. Anyone have any experience between the two? If so, please share. Thanks in advance.

BB=ability to get independent suspension

Yessr, that's one of the main things on my mind too. We use the carts here at work for running around the fab yard, I like how quiet they are but rough riding as heck. I've never been in a BBB but the independent suspension would be nice I'm sure. Decisions decisions.....

If you had very good oilfield type maintained road...just get a golf cart not so much get a BB.... Large ranch get a Polaris.

Speaking of Polaris I would get the Polaris evt over the BB

I haven't even looked at the Polaris' yet, I'll do that. I deer hunt on 700 acres down South & roads are so so.....but some of the properties I hog hunt on can get a little rough sometimes. I don't want to shake my teeth out driving down the road.

There are all kinds of lift kits available for golf carts. I borrowed a buddy's lifted EZ-GO for a weekend at my ranch before deciding if a cart would suit my needs. I found his cart very rough riding and squeaky. That taught me to look around a little more before pulling the trigger on just any old cart. I found an older, lifted Club Car that was set up a lot different. The EZ-GO had what is called a spindle lift on it, basically a solid front end that has extended/lower spindle mounts for the front wheels. The Club Car I bought has a leaf spring running sideways in the front end to provide a much smoother ride than the EZ-GO.

There are also "long travel" lift kits available that are completely independent front suspension just like you'll find on an ATV or UTV. These lifts are about twice what a spindle lift cost $700 vs $300.

I am completely satisfied with the cart I bought and love the quietness of it. The only thing I might upgrade to later would be a "limo" cart. This would allow me to keep the seating for four and add a bed on the back. It would look like a two row seat Ranger, but a lot quieter.

I also looked at the electric Ranger (on line only). Personally, I would buy one of these before I bought a BadBoy Buggy.

Might be getting a cart next week, curious if anyone knows a good source for the convertible back seat/cargo rack?

My cousin bought a BB buggy and loved it till the rainy season came. IT wasn't worth much in heavy mud, so he gave it to his wife. His latest UTV is the new style John Deere Gator. Looks nice. My UTV is a Kubota UTV 900, and it isn't that good in heavy mud, due to being too low to the ground, but the hydraulic dump bucket was something the wife had to have.

Most people that dog on the BBB are talking about the old models. Mine is awesome and I've never had a problem, it's an XT. It goes in gumbo or hard ground with no problem. I've never seen a golf cart that could touch it, even the one I had before the BbB. Mine is for sale, but only cause I don't have a lease and plan on hunting out of the state for the next couple of years.

Long travel lift on golf cart is the way to go. This improves ride ,stability, etc.

Totally depends on usage. Are you just getting to and from the blind or are you wanting to do work? What is the terrain like? What kind of range and power do you need. I have a Stealth, which I love, but because of my location and uses I could probably get away with a lifted golf cart. On the plus side of both I routinely drive up on game without being heard. The utility carts will have heavier duty and more batteries, more power and range. That is also something to think about because you WILL have to buy all new batteries sooner or later and batteries are expensive.

If you don't need the 4x4, don't get a BBB. Club Car Dealer told me he loves them, cuz they're always in for repair. The 2-wheel drive carts get around pretty good, even through water and up pretty steep hills.

I have just upgraded my controller mother and everything else on my 93 ez go and it will now do wheelies. I set it up for torque only so top speed is 15 mph.

BBB's are nothing but upgraded golf carts. Have a friend who bought one and it was back into the shop so much, the dealer wound up swapping it for a Ranger. Many of the issues were caused by water/creek crossings. Electricity and water simply don't mix well.

A HuntVE on the lease and a BB on my lease. Thought I had to have a silent ride so I spent a small fortune on getting one built. Big mistake, there IS NO substitution for gasoline unless you want to road hunt which I don't. I'll take my FI Rhino and keep going to pick up the electric boys when they have problems. They frequently do.

I bought a BBB about two months ago. I had to buy a new set of batteries (1000) but I am very pleased with it. For comparison, a normal electric cart has a 3 hp motor. My bad boy has two 18 hp motors. I can hunt for 6 - 8 hrs with 3 to 4 hunters in the BBB. I average about 10 - 15 mph while hunting but remember I am hunting not just burning up the roads, like I said, it works perfect for me.
