I have a 52 gallon gravity feed on mine and I am very happy with it. Matter of fact I didn't want it but now that the deal was with it on the truck and I took it. It has been handy and I use it a lot more than I thought I would.

I have an 80 gallon L-tank in the back of mine. I keep it full and it comes in very handy.

I'm looking to get one as well. My parents have one and it's come in handy especially road trips. They can be selective if diesel prices are too high they just fill their stock tanks with the auxiliary. Then refill everything when they find better prices.

I can't find anyone to mess with gravity feeds. Everyone is saying they are illegal.

Thanks in advance don't think it's illegal. My 2011 factory tank drives me insane... I'm looking for 30-35 to fit under tool box

I thought they made one that had a cross bed toolbox with fuel tank in the bottom but I have not been able to locate one.
Looked at the web site for that place in Fort Worth "thewrap" is using and they quote some federal statue that says it is illegal to use siphon or gravity flow out of an aux tank. Makes some sense if you think about fittings or hoses failing and draining the tank on the gound or whereever. One drawbak to thier system is the pump only moves about a gallon a minute and only 5 min at a time with 10 minute shutdown intervals.

I've done some digging, and the only thing I can find about gravity feeds being illegal is when they are plumbed straight to the fuel line, not the factory fuel tank. Also read in a few places where they have to have the manual shut off valve on the aux tank, which would make sense.

RDS from northern tool or most truck supply companys they make the best IMO and have lots of different options for different trucks I run a 50 gallon with a tool box on top ( not Alot of room ) but will hold plenty of small stuff and it's gravity fed

Those RDS tanks look good. Gravity feed out of the bottom of the tank to the filler tube on the OEM tank. It keeps the truck tank full until aux tank runs out. Looks to be a simple install with their kit. Q and A on northern tool web site answered all my questions. Thanks for the info 220swiftsniper...

be careful with the Aluminum tanks if you travel alot of rough (oilfield) roads, the tangs that bolt to tank down will break and if you get any rocks under the tank it could rub a hold in the bottom of the tank. be sure to put rubber under the whole tank and not just the brackets. we have them in all of our trucks and they are all plummed direct to the tank on the trucks.
