I spent the weekend in Port Isabel with 2 of my friends, my dad and 5 of his buddies. We went out Saturday to do some offshore fishing. 2 boats 4 men on each. We went out of Padre they went out of Port Isabel. It was a blast, our boat won the $$$$ on our fishing bet. We limited out on King fish by 11 am, and moved on to the Snappers. Whacked them and had our limit and headed back in to the port. In between the Kings and snapper we caught 1 banita and a shark. It was an awesome weekend. It was most of our first times to offshore fish and we are all ready to go back. We went out with Miss Directed Fishing Charters, and they were awesome guides I would recommend them to anyone that is thinking about heading down there to fish.

It was a great weekend with my Dad and buddies. Caught tons of fish, ate some Saturday night that we caught that morning, drank way to many beers and laughed a ton. Great trip and ready to go back.

Here are a few pics from the wkend.(sorry if they are to big)

Very addicting. Next time for the long haul farther offshore and get into some Grouper, Amberjack and Tuna. Tell 'em you want to run to Perdido. You'll really get hooked then.

No, they threw the shark back, I'm not sure why. I don't think we had a choice on keeping it. If you haven't been I definitely recommend doing it. I can definitely see it being addicting for sure.

I'm fairly certain that shark is a Dusky. They are prohibited and therefore you cannot keep it. Probably why they didn't even give you the choice.

Perdido is a stretch but well worth it. I spent almost 2 years on Perdido working though. Seen a lot of solid tuna, mahi, & marlin caught while I was earning a paycheck. A lot of neat critters in 8,000 ft of water too smile

Don't need to go out all the way to Florida. Come with me and we can load up heavy on mahi mahi, yellowfin, and blue or white marlin if we're lucky. If we're really lucky, we can sightcast some tarpon. On a full weekend, we'll run her out to about 150mi for marlin, and load up on mahi mahi en route. We run back up the coast and stop at Mansfield Pass for a try at tarpon.

Always have extra room on my 60ft Hatteras, if anybody wants to tag along.

Nice pics, and +1 on the dusky.

Yeah, we were there too. The Game Warden stopped everybody. Luckily everybody on our party boat had the proper licenses. Nice snapper. What was something like that cost? If you don't mind me asking. PM me if you want. I love going on the party boats, but i'd rather go on a private charter boat with a few friends. We always just catch snapper and head in, i want the king and everything else

Looks and sounds like a great day on the water. We were in Port Mansfield for several days and ended the day Saturday afternoon hanging out at the Jetties. There were three boats of game wardens stopping everyone coming back from offshore there as well. The guys staying next to us in town caught a swordfish and brought it in Saturday. That thing was huge and cool looking. It's eyes were bigger around than a coke can.
