Have two good friends with the EcoBoost and they both love it.

well Friday evening (6/27/12) my dealer called me and told me to bring it in for the repair, they said they would install a shield in front of the inter-cooler because it was getting too much airflow... sounds like a way to reduce power to an engine to me....

I dropped it off yesterday. we shall see...

My '12 ecoboost 4x4 w/3.55 rear end has about 3,500 miles on it and my combined mpg is still 13.0ish. I'm sure the mpg will improve soon. That's my attitude. If not by 10,000 miles, I'll need to speak to Kelley's attorney. Otherwise the truck is great so far.

Wow was at the dealer yesterday, scares me..My 07 started the limp mode and traded for a 10 w the 5.4 and love it but looking at a second truck and have a Buddy who has the Eco Boost and we have pulled a 20 foot bumper pull w a 3/4 lease truck to Rock Springs thorugh the hills from Junction to Rock Springs and we were not gentle..seems like a good Truck but I wanted to see what happens after a year or so..really want the Diesel but keep hearing horror stories

I have owned my '11 XLT 4X4 for over a year and have no problems. I love my truck. I was doing all the pulling of the lease equipment we had to do with my truck. You could hardly tell it was pulling anything. I was pulling a 2500lb trailer with a full 275gal tote and other various stuff. If all I needed was my tote then I would just put it in the back of the truck. I have no complaints. Way to go Ford.

I have a 07 F150 with the 5.4 eng. Best truck I have ever had. This is the first truck I have bought since 1987. Been driving Dodges. I have a little over 90,000 on this ford and am very bpleased with it. Don't think I would want any other engine.

What do you think about the turbos not being rated for flex fuel? The 5.0 engines are flex fuel rated.I'm running RXP in the fuel.

This country is stuck on stupid!

I don't think they are. Atleast my 11' wasn't.

yes, that is how you can tell a 5.0 from an ecoboost from behind, the 5.0 has the flex fuel badge on the bottom right of the tailgate.

well......
on 6/29/12 my dealer called and told me to bring my truck info the TSB
on 7/2/12 i dropped it off with 37,109 miles
on 7/3/12 dealer called and said TSB was done and it was still having trouble on cylinder 4, so they swapped coils from 4 to 5 and the misfire also moved to #5. they ordered a coil.
7/5/12 Dealer called me back and said it was ready and all was well.
7/5/12 I picked it up with 37,160 miles. I drive the truck to my office and parked it there overnight, I had to drive my Tahoe home.
7/6/12 I hitched a ride back to my office. at lunch I took my truck fora 15-20 minute ride and was really optimistic all was fixed.. I left my office about 7:00 headed home and had only gone about 23 miles when the truck started running bad again and the CEL came back on... When does this cycle end?

Well I did it, went with the 6.7 Powerstroke. Nothing against the Eco Boost just wanted the additional power.

My dad owns a 2010 Tundra which is what I was leaning toward buying. Drove a 2011 Ecoboost in February of this year and ended up buying the 2011 Ecoboost Lariat. Best purchase I ever made. My brother owns an '06 Ford with the 5.4 liter V8. He will admit that my truck pulls his boat better than his truck.

Not if you take care of some issues and do your regular maint. on them. I love mine, actually on my second 6.0.

I'm curious to see how these V6's hold up over time though. I've heard nothing but good about them so far.

I am having very random problems and ford's final answer was "we are releasing reflash for the PCM in 4-6 weeks and until them just try to get by."

They will not give me a loaner vehicle because mine is still driveable. although while trying to go up an on ramp it will sometimes stall and start cutting out. I could wait 4-6 week for them to fix everything except the "limp" mode my truck goes into while trying to pull a trailer. A few miles after connecting my 6*10 single axle trailer the truck will go into limp mode. for those of you who do not know. Limp mode is a reduced power state that the engine goes into to get you home or to a shop. When in limp mode it will not shift into 6th gear and runs like crap.

I was mad at the dealer at first until I contacted ford and heard it from them. Ford will not authorized the dealer to make any repairs until the pcm is reprogrammed in 4-6 weeks. I started by calling ford customer relations and starting a case then the regional ford rep called me back and started telling me how my truck is not properly equipped for towing because I have 3.15 gears. She didnt have much to say when i asked why it came with a 2" class 5 hitch and a trailer brake controller. I have talked to many supervisors until today when I gave up.

All I wanted them to do was provide me with a vehicle I could safely drive until mine was fixed... There answer was "no". I contacted an attorney that specializes in Lemon law and Warranty issues and he said without a doubt we have a good case. I have (with their knowledge) recorded many phone calls from ford reps that I am working on uploading to youtube so other people can hear how Ford treats their customers.

They were nice enough to offer me an extended warranty for my trouble. I think they did that just to make my blood boil... Why would an extended warranty help if they cant even honor their factory warranty...

This really sucks because this is the first truck I have had in many years that I liked... i was getting 20.5 mpg (calculated by had not the trucks computer) until the first time the CEL came on and they reflased the PCM, now I get no better than 16.5...

List of issues:
Limp mode while towing
truck shaking while sitting still with engine running
mileage drop after CEL and reflash
stalling out while accelerating hard
stuttering or missing while driving in 5th or 6th gear
reverse camera going black and white and fuzzy image
drivers heated mirror turned a funny color where contact points are
check engine light comes on with a random misfire code for cylinder number 4

there are others but this is just what comes to mind.

Wow, keep us posted on the outcome.... doesn't sound good.
