Make friends.
Duck hunting is more fun with friends to share the misery with.

Quit while you can. The best advise is not to name lakes.....
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Looks like I'll be headed to Academy this weekend! They have deeks marked down right now...they'll mark em down again but it's still not bad where they are. $20ish for a dozen I bought 4 dozen last year at $13.99 a dozen...they've been run over, shot, lost, chewed on by dogs and just about everything else but they were cheap so you don't have to worry about taking care of them...

I would recommend buying 2 dozen dekes. Mallards are the most popular, but I like the idea of having some gadwall and maybe teal. I usually use about 12-18 dekes, mallards, teal and wood ducks. There is nothing wrong with starting off with cheap ones.
As far as the boat blind goes, we tried to make one that could be installed and taken down easily for early morning time factor. We tried several different patterns, types of material, and supports for the blind. In the end, no matter what we did, it never looked right. We always stuck out like sore thumbs. Not saying it cant be done, but if you take a machete and a pair of clippers, you can brush yourself in pretty well anywhere real quick.

Yeah, I guess before I spend too much money starting off I should do some ground hunting. Payday is tomorrow and I really got to make up my mind. Duck stuff or a couple new crappie rods. Tough decisions!

It was just really frustrating to us on the blind part. Maybe if you followed the design of a ligit one you might be able to make a little better one. Our biggest problem was creating something that is easily attachable/removable and the lack of cover from above. Sometimes you can park your boat strategically to flare the birds from where you dont want them to land. Good luck man!

Hiding in a boat from ducks is not easy. I had one for years and don't like to use them. I would much rather park the boat and just walk where I am going to hunt.

Hey Wayne, Whatever happened with that pontoon you picked up. I still think a great boat/blind would be an old pontoon boat stripped to the deck, coffin blinds sunk flush in the floor and the whole thing covered with a realistic waterfowl loafing island diorama.
