You are squirrel hunting with a .22. You are walking around and you jump a big barr hog. Do you kill right there and then, let it charge and give em lead, or walk away and grab a AR15?
Option 2 for me.

Actually had something like that happen to me years ago. Shootng turtles at a small stock tank. Two guys I am shooting with have .22 that shoot shorts, longs or long rifles. Mine shot only long rifles. They had emptied theirs to put cheaper stuff in them. Two big Russian boars came over the tank dam, stopped and looked my way. They yelled "don't shoot!" Too late, I unloaded on one of them. When I looked for my buddies, there were in a tree. Tracked it for a good while but lost it when I got close, it started popping its jaws, they climbed a tree again and I was wishing for more than a .22.

It's about shot placement. My uncle has killed many Indian boars(russian conterparts)and even a few Russians with the 22. Running shots and like 7" cutters

Semi auto and 22 LR
Idk I don't know anything cept hollow point but am sure they mak other bullets
