A while back I had a post where i was having trouble with this gun shooting a groop @ 100 Yards and i sent the gun back to remington. Well they found a burr in the barle and re-lapped the bore and the gun will now shoot about a 2.5" groop @ 100 yards. I just thought that i would give everyone an up date on this.

It should still shoot better than that. After you do another barrel-break-in procedure and check all the "usual suspects" (screws, scope mounts, forend pressure, etc.) try some different weight bullets. My stock 700 .270 shoots nearly 1" groups all day long with almost any ammo.

My friend just bought one and put a Zeiss scope on his.
I just bought the Remington 700 Series 30 Ought Six and I put a Leopold scope on mine.(My first Hunting Rifle) I freaking love the gun! I can't wait to try out my friend's 270 to notice the difference.

my 270 was winchester, it only liked 130 gr. bullets, buddys have howa, browning, and ruger 270's. they also only shoot 130 gr. ammo well.

2.5 is so so. I bet if you find the right bullet it will tighten up

I gotta agree with the general concensus here, get propped up real good and try different weights and brands of bullets, and find one your gun likes, then when you do, buy a bunch of boxes of it case they ever change them on you I have a Remmy 7400 in .270 and what it likes best is the Fedral blue box 130 grains, about the cheapest ammo around, tried some of the more expensive brands and it didnt like them
