Question: I am wondering if any of you guys know how to treat fleas inside the house. My dog got some from another dog and brought them inside and now its awful. Any help would be great.

Someone else may be able to advise you on the quick fix with insecticides or organic stuff like DE to rid them, but long term you need something with a growth regulator or they will return. Frontline then Advantage were products I have used in the past. When I had a pack of hounds, Frontline was the awesome. But fleas became resistant to both in my area. With Advantix II on my dog, we have had zero flea problems in or out of the house. There are other products with a growth regulator both for the dog and products for the house that work.

Get a exterminator to do the house and yard. Plan on him having to come back. You need to get Advantix II for the dog an keep him on it. Just about every bug out there is bad this year.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Get some 20 mule team borax. Sprinkle it on your floors. Leave it a couple of days and then vacum it up. It works.

Had this happen one time in my apartment. Tried usin that flea and tick stuff from walmart and I learned to spend the money and get the real thing. I'd start by getting some advantix or frontline. Then, they make some carpet sprinkle that kills em, and then a spray you can spray on all your furniture. It got pretty bad at my place, had bites on me when I woke up etc. But we eventually got them out.

main thing is after you treat you need do so again in about 7 days because any eggs will hatch. you can probably look on internet for incubation period of flea eggs so you know when to hit them again

I can't spell too well.... "Comfortis" give it to your dog and it will kill fleas in and around the house.

Honestly, I would just get rid of the dog... let the fleas die out, and try again with a new dog.

Had this exact thing happen to us last year. After trying everything and only having so so results, I called an exterminator, and the house yard and dog were fixed within hours for $150.

I'd rather sell the house and keep the dog.

The fix is a lot cheaper and simpler than you'd imagine! Buy a bottle of Palmolive dish washing soap. Fill a spray bottle to 9/10 and the rest with Palmolive (water FIRST, or you'll end up with a bottle of soap foam.) If you get the green soap, the water will turn a nice turquoise.

Spray carpets, bedding, furniture. Put Advantix II on the dog. Wash all bedding (sheets, pillow cases, dog bed covers, etc.) Throw pillows in dryer on HOT. Spray everything again in 3 days. Again another 3 days later. Problem solved. After this, keep pup on a flea control product.

EDIT: I forgot to say - BATHE THE DOG!!! (Do before applying the Advantix.) Use the Palmolive or any mainstream shampoo with a detergent type base. It will kill fleas on contact.

The phosphate in the detergent. So don't use phosphate-free soap!

Bifen I/T or Demon Wp worked great for my deck & yard. One ounce in a 1 gallon sprayer.

I put Frontline Plus or Pet Amour at Wal-Mart on the dogs. Flea bites dog and dies, all eggs die. Dog goes into area with the fleas and the cycle repeats. Waterproof and last for a month. You will kill all fleas.

We use Demon WP that I get online. It's a wettable powder that mixes in water. Use a 1 gallon sprayer and maybe once a year, or as needed. Kick the dogs out until it dries, then forget about it. Handles all your Texas bugs...

Good tip, thanks. Last time I ordered, we bought a 1 pound jug. That should last a lifetime.
