We've got more pics of Horned Toads this year than I've seen in a long time. So, I got to thinking, why not do a THF survey and see what counties have horned toads showing back up.

If you've got a pic of our state reptile from this year post it up, along with what county it was taken in. Let's see where the little guys are ranging.

None yet for me in Llano Co, but lots of Red Harvester ants so I keep hoping.

This one was in Jeff Davis County near the McDonald Observatory in June 2008:

I was pretty upset that the focus was too close and not on the toad. But you can still see his beautiful colors. I've never seen one that green before.

No photos on this PC but Callahan and Shackelford see them quite often. One trip to the lease last year saw 10 of the little guys

I'll see a dozen or more a day. They get out in the roads in the mornings to warm up.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Man I miss those little dudes. I had one with me all summer long growing up. They're a great lizard. Compact, hearty, carry well in a pocket. I had one that I used to put on top of a little remote control pickup...he rode that thing all day long.

I hear ya. I used to catch them at our family place outside Brady when I was a kid and tote one around all day. Was never hard as they were all over the place back then. Them, and the huge jumbo hoppers. Haven't seen either in many years.

None in Ang or Nac Co, last one I saw was back when I was 8 or 9 in a river bed.

No picture but caught one in Carson County back in May. The kids thought it was great. We see 1 or 2 a year on the ranch, might see more if I was up there more often.

I saw a bunch in Ft Worth the other day, but they were purple

Last live one I saw was in Irving about 35 years ago. My dad had them on his place in Menard, but I never saw any

They're climbing the fences in Pecos and Terrell counties.

The last three years they have made a huge comeback. I see them in the double-digits all the time now.
