With a catch.

I have 75 acres of prime hog and deer hunting property in Fannin County. It is also infested with cedar trees. I want to harvest the trees for sale as fence posts and some to build stands on the property.

I would be willing to allow a full year's hunting after the clearing/harvesting is complete. I'd need someone with a tractor, grapple, and fence post/tree pulling attachment.

Just thought I'd float it out there and see if there is any interest.

Might be good for someone with the equipment who's also close by. Good Luck!

Yep, I figured it was a long shot. The other option is peeling the bark off of the logs... Either way, no free lunch.

It is funny that I got tired of begging for hunts and finally gave up and started shopping for land. The only thing I found is so neglected that it is un-huntable.

To tour the property I had to chop my way through. It is thick with hog and deer sign, no doubt because of the lack of activity and thick growth. I plan on only removing the cedar trees and leaving much of it undisturbed.

I was about to jump on this until I saw you wanted heavy equipment. I thought my MS290 would do the job.

Got saws covered and I have to pull them otherwise I will have a field full of stumps for the next 10 years. Cedar resists not only bugs but rotting pretty good too...

I can rent a skid steer, and if the skid steer is just uprooting the tree's and the help is peeling and stacking, it should go fairly quick. Quick being relative since my best guess is that there are 30 acres of cedar trees...

Offer still stands but be forewarned, after the novelty wears off (around 15 minutes) it will really suck.

Well looks like the party will be from late May to Mid June.

Plenty of hog sign all over the property.

The deal still stands: But I'd like to modify it a little. For each day of work will equal a free day of hunting. I don't care if you hunt deer, hog, bobcats, coyotes or racoons (all of which there are an abundace of).I have cams up and a feeder so it should be a turn key hunt.

I'll need someone to:
1) Move the trees that I cut out of the way
2) Cut the tops off the trees
3) Stack the logs

Will need to provide a chainsaw or I'll provide a bow saw. I just don't want someone to get hurt using my equipment. Moving the logs can be done with a 4 wheeler ATV, tractor or by hand.

Just set up the salt and mineral licks this weekend. The feeder goes up next weekend.

These are 100% "free range" deer. I mean that anything captured on the camera's was just by chance, no attractants were used. I did a photo capture of one of the deer. It looks to me like he is a 10 or 11 point. No way to tell until the antlers fully develope.

I have been searching for a name for my ranch since I bought it. Since there are some nice racks, just small bodies, Hooters sounds like a fitting name.

It was hard for me to make the offer of work for hunt, and I really needed the help. The pay for hunting would be more hassle than it is worth I'm afraid.

A co-worker of mine thought it is around 11 or 12 points and around 4 years old. The original pictures are much better quality and easier to see.

He also said I shouldn't post the pictures and video on the web for fear of poachers.

I'm not too concerned given the number of trail cameras that I have operating.

I seriously doubt that someone would risk losing their hunting equipment just for a deer, no matter how nice.

But who knows?

Nice place. If I had the equipment I would be there with you. Good luck.

Just emailed to see if I can get the pictures again. I was kind of put out after watching it all year, so I deleted it. Now I don't care.

cedar trees are actually easy to push over. Not a very good root base.

Well he sent me a picture of this year's buck...

Here is a link to the trailcam footage, since I archive it on youtube. You can go back to last year and see him on the hoof.
