Oh yeah.....nevermind I've been hunting safari style and we would have 2 guns with us in the front and 2 in the back facing down without any cartridges in the chambers. But there were adults. idk

You can take a rifle or shotgun, would not take a pistol though.
All ready

Hunting alone is no more dangerous than driving to the store alone. JMO.

If you feel you're capable of hunting alone, go for it. Just tell someone where you are. Thousands of members of this forum hunted alone at your age. Myself included
Hunting may be the safest place left in this world! Good luck

start with googling for texas laws in regards of underage non supervised person posessing a firearm. (If i am not mistaken, you cannot own a rifle at 16y.o., you can only borrow under supervision) And then laws about an underage person transporting a firearm. May not pan out well with GW or LEO. Is it worth potential trouble? May be you can find a 21y.o. friend/cousin to go hunting? it is your decision to find laws and obey or not. In any case, STAY SAFE and good luck hunting!

Thats the way I'm reading it also. He's going to need a supervisor over 18. I was pulled over by a trooper when I was 16... probably had 10 guns in the truck since I was coming back from shooting sports. He said since I was in route from a sporting activity that it was perfectly fine. I remember reading something about that as well for minors...but I dont feel like doing the research right now... I did all that before I was 18.

You can drive yourself crazy trying to understand the finest thread of the law. It's pretty simple, really: keep the gun out of sight and don't do anything to get pulled over. If you do, the cop may of may not ask if you have any guns, if so, just be honest and unless you have a record or you just happen to get the a-hole of he day, you oughta be alright. Be careful hunting hogs by yourself and good luck.
