I was curious if anybody has hunted the Shelby Co. Illinois before. Is the hunting there as good as Pike Co or are they about the same with great deer?
Thanks,
Poedidit

I hunt about 2 hours south of there and I went to college in the area. There are good deer in that county. A monster buck can be taken in any county. Pike is a commercial hunting zone so the numbers are skewed. Here is last seasons harvest totals by county:

I wouldnt get too hung up on the numbers game, it is all dependent on the property you are hunting. I had 120 acres that produced few deer and 80 acres that I would see 20-30 deer per hunt.
