I finally finished this up today. I have no experience building fence and the pictures show this. The Eagleford has but a premium on fence prices I have learned. The best price I got was .90 cents a foot labor. I learned everything about building fence from the internet and youtube. I used 2 7/8" pipe and cemented the corners and braces 3.5 feet into the ground. On the uneven ground I used fence posts cemented 3 feet in the ground. I ended up getting cheap and going 13' in between t-posts. I sunk the 6" gate posts 4' in the ground and hung a cheap gate. This entire project took me 5 full days to finish. I had a helper for a half day for 4 of those days. I started around April but I could just never get a chance to spend a full day working on this. Tuesday was tough but the Lord blessed us with a breeze today. I learned a bunch and if I ever do one again I am sure it will look better and go faster. I just couldn't get a straight line like the ones I see driving down the road. I pulled a tight wire for the posts but I guess it wasn't tight enough. I did not use many lineposts because the ground was just too darned hard. Next time I will use 2 7/8 pipe for line posts every few posts. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is considering trying.

Looks good. The braces look like you have them right and that is important. Good job. I probably would have painted the posts or coated them before doing the wire but that is just my preferrence. Which wire did you use to stretch first and make your line?

Curtis,
I stretched the bottom wire first for my straight line. I then pulled that wire to the top and started from the top when pulling. They were all tight when I was done.
Cameron,
This is in SW Atascosa county

Beat me to it. Keeps the water from collecting in them and rusting them out from the inside at the base. We did ours with mortar domed just a bit to shed rain. Stuffed wads of empty concrete sacks down the pipe first to provide a stop for the mortar so we didn't have to fill the whole dang pipe. We had about 50 to fill in our first run. Believe me, I feel your pain. I'm on my first major ranch fence project too. Definitely slow going as a do-it-yourself project, but I can't afford to just have it done right now. Be glad you can drive your posts and aren't fighting rock. I think Im on the decade plan with mine...

I am going to mortar them one day. I do not think it would take too long. I was not able to drive these posts by hand. It would have taken me a week. I rented a tow behind air compressor and a driver. I was able to knock em out in a few hours.
