1. Steyr Model M 2. Blazer R8 3. Sako AV
In no certain order.......They are all slick as butter.

Every krag rifle I have ever held has had an unusually slick action.

I got out all my rifles yesterday and I have to say that its a close tie between my 1891 Argentine Mauser (military config) and my Ruger M77 Mk. II in 6.5x55. The Ruger beats out the 1891 only because the 1891 is a [censored]-on-close action....which makes it a little toucher to cycle.
If it is possible for an action to be too smooth, my Ruger might be.
REALLY! It censored out c0ck in "c0ck-on-close"!

I love my Rugers but they are not smooth! I got to agree with that. Ruger is probably my all time favorite but I have never seen one that I would consider smooth at all.

Sako for sure but a cheap savage is right behind it my savage is about as sloppy as my highschool girlfriend. another vote for tikka or sako. my winny model 70 isn't bad either
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Of the bolt guns I own, my Tikka in 25/06 is by far the smoothest, followed by my 1917 Winchester. Rounding them out but very close to the Winchester is my Savage. Both are 30/06, but the 1917 has seen alot my cycling, and thats where I am sure the edge comes from. However, they really can't hold a candle to the Tikka, that action is very easy to manipulate....

Sako 75 series to me is the smoothest action you can get in a non-custom rifle

Remington models 700,and 722 in my opinion. Followed closely by Winchester model 70, pre 64 of course.

What exactly is "smooth?" Is It like fastest without like getting stuck or jerky? Or is it something else. Let the bashing begin unless someone actually answers my question.
