They keep sending it to us at our greenhouses. Personally, I think it's another one of those things where someone in the government gets to justify keeping their job for the sake of having a job, not really of any benifit to us in our industry.

yep
Filled it out, mailed it in.
The required by law thing got me kinda curious, so I went ahead and did it.
I'd bet the majority of these thing get filled out hap-hazzardly. (like the migratory HIP joke) While the gov'mnt thinks they are getting quality survey info to evaluate or base a new program/tax/or subside on.
As they are looking for any angle to get "involved"..
"We are the government and we are here to help"
The farther they stay away thet better....IMO

You can bet that there is an ulterior (sp) method to their questionaire. They want to keep up with something and to do that they are going about it in a way where everyone fills it out. Then, when they have the info that they want, BAM, the trap slams shut and you are caught. I did fill it out also, just because of the remark about breaking the law if you did not.

I would not worry about the breaking the law part. I doubt it is breaking the law to not fill it out, and even if it is against the law how are they going to prove you ever received it. It is kind of like the jury duty in Louisiana they would just mail it to my house, and I never called about it. They could not prove I ever received it, so I didn't worry about it.

We get it yearly and Lora, being a former goverment employee, dutifully fills it out and sends it end.
JMO, but from what I have been seeing going on the past 5 years, BenBob is on the right track.
While I am not sure this thread belongs in this topic area, I think it would be better in OT, but one of the goals of SOMEONE, and I have no proof of who is backing it, is the total eradication of small livestock and poultry producers.
Take the First Monday Trades Day at Weatherford, no longer do they have animals or poultry over there, also the sale barn has been shut down and when I was by there earlier in the week the facilty is being torn down.
There has been a move over the past 5 years at least, and credit for that movement to the large factory farms and also to the humane society, to abolish the small operators businesses.
I think this needs to be moved to Off Topic, simply because if folks are interested in discussing it, it will take up too much space in this topic area. JMO.
