While I'm not a fan of those guns, that failure in the video was clearly the result of shooting +P ammo in it when it's not rated for it.

Agreed, but some folks may miss that part in the owners manual.

Had one, hated the trigger pull. Sold it after putting 2 clips through it..

I have a db380. I've got maybe 300 rounds through it. Failed to return to battery after the 1st shot. Cleared it and haven't had a problem since.

I have a DB380. No problems at all.

Buddy got his at the same time and had a mag issue. Got a new mag and she runs like a top.

I have a db380. It's not the most fun to shoot but for the price it's a good gun.

If you look at the various gun forums... Probably 90+% of the comments and reviews on these guns are all negative. I've seen enough to know to avoid them

This is true. I know a lot of guns I've bought didn't come with the manual either and although I know where to find manuals online not everyone will download and read it.

not to play devils advocate. But there is a lot of my friend's, brother's, cousin said on forums........ Problem with forums are you dont know who actually owns what they are talking about or did they use them as directed by the manufacturer. Obviously they still make them, which to me indicates someone still buys enough them to keep em in buisness. If you can try before you buy go for it. Make sure the gun fits you and shooting style first.

I hear ya about forums. But still. Many people do post their experiences and problems with items. And, others ask for opinions. I have seen too many detailed stories about how many of them just won't work.

I mean, you can argue the same about any gun. I will say that I have looked at them and am not impressed at all. EVen before the reviews, I knew it was not a gun I wanted

My db380 is back at the factory right now. Waiting for it to be returned. It had a lot of the typical problems described. Fail to eject, fail to feed, and double feeds mostly. At least every other mag with ball ammo. I got a good deal on it used and knew going in I was taking a gamble, but for the size and price it was worth it for me. We'll see how she performs after I get her back. Probably would never be in my carry rotation, but you never know. My LCP runs perfect and has always fed anything I put in it, so it'd be tough to trust anything as much.

BTW - The one I got according to the serial # was an early first generation that looked like it had spent most of its life in a safe or nightstand. Not even sure if it was ever "broke in". The guy I talked to at Diamondback felt confident that he could get it improved greatly at the very least. Nice guy and I've gotta say that even though I'm at least the 3rd owner of this one, I'm glad they honor the warrantee. And yes, I was honest with them that I bought it used. Pretty cool, we'll see if it helps.

If you check internet reviews the early versions had problems but they supposedly fixed the problem. I saw some reviews that listed the serial numbers where the "fix" was done.

Personally I will never use a 380, I have had several and none of them were reliable so I got rid of them since I couldn't bet my life on them. Smallest caliber I will carry is 9mm.

I can imagine you probably had some issues with most .380 pistols
I own a sig sauer p238HD and i would have to say thats the best pocket gun on the market! Its the exact replica of the original colt mustang being the stainless upper and lower and have not had any issues at all even through break in period. I have put over 1000rds through it too. I have owned the ruger lcp and never had any issues with it. And also owned the keltec p3at not one issue with that one either. I think the biggest issue with all the small guns is they don't work all the problems out until after the first production. So you can bet that if its brand new to the market it will have some problems!
