I shot my first deer, a doe, at the age of 13the in Timpson Texas. The deer density is not what it is out west. I had been hunting for 4the years and it was the first year that they had doe tags. She was 100big yards and I shot her left handed with a 30-06. The next morning I shot a 16" 8 point. When I finally got on the board, I went to putting them on the ground!

My first was a 6 point buck, 1100 rem with slugs at 60yds in GA at age 10.

My daughters first was a couple years ago, a doe at age 11 with Ruger .243. We pulled a double that day smile Then a cull 6 later in the season.

Little man, maybe this year at age 8. May let him work on pigs for a bit with the .223 peep

Shot a 7pt at the age of 14 with a 30.06 but I had been trying to kill a deer for 3-4 years and just could never get on one.

Now, that I have kids, I will let my daughter shoot a deer whenever she thinks she is ready(and of course I think she is big enough to shoot a rifle)

Did the same thing with my first deer, which was a 3 point. Mine was a lever action .243. I was also 8. Aimed for heart, but instead hit the neck. Buck fever, it really got to me on my first one. And still pretty much every one since.

My first two deer were Doe my 3rd was a 8 point all deer with a Remington model 7400 in 243 cal at the age of 13-14.

My sons first and only deer so far was at the age of 8 and it was a Doe. he shot it with my Browning A-Bolt 7mm. My son will be 12 this year and it is the first year we have been able to have a season lease. I am hoping he is able to get his first buck this year.

I killed my first deer in third grade which would have made me 8yrs old. My daughter shot her first deer in second grade or 8 years old and my son just shot his first deer at 5 yrs old. My daughter and son both used a .223.

I come from a fishing family and never learned to hunt. As a result, I am 27 and still haven't gotten my first deer! Sad, I know.

I am going out this year for the first time and just attempting to learn on the fly (after plenty of reading). I hope I don't have to wait until I am 28...

Started hunting at 13 took a young six at 17 12ga slug Nov 80' in drizzling rain at 09:30 sitting on some 2x4s nailed in a tree fork wearing a military surplus poncho and it was about 40 degrees with me trying to talk myself into staying a few more minutes... My son was 11 we were together in a homemade box blind hunting 10 acres five does walked out and he wanted to know which one to shoot... I told him it was his choice and he dropped the only button buck in the bunch...It was a great day and one I will never forget, even more exciting when you are with your younguns and they take any deer. Thanks for stirring up good memories..

I was 13 and shot a doe, sitting in a tree stand in drizzling rain. While my dad was asleep under the tree wrapped up in a poncho. Using a winchester 100, 308. rested on a 2x4 and pushed the clip release. When I shot the clip fell out and landed on my dad.
My son shot a spike at a friends place when he was 12. Free hand with a 30-30. 100 yds and broke its neck. I was so proud.

It is what it is and it will be allright.

6 years old. Still can remember it. Gut shot with .223. Dad stayed up all night tracking that deer for me. Great memory that I'll never forget.
