I started going with my dad when I was 4. Keep it fun let him blow his call, bring one of those cork guns, and don't go out expecting to shoot a limit of ducks.

Ok, got another question for you guys...what about camo for him? Did you worry about putting him in camo or just dark clothing? Anyone have any camo that no longer fits their kids(nearly 4 yrs old by hunting season) that they want to get rid of?

Took my 4 year old the last day this winter. He LOVED it! He's been practicing gun safety and shooting with his BB gun. We didn't get a single duck that day but he had a blast!

He's been begging to go since that hunt and doesn't understand why we can't shoot the ducks in the neighborhood ponds...

He also loves to run outside when I get home and "help" me clean the ducks. Can't wait to find "his" BB in a duck after one of our hunts!

Make sure they don't get cold and don't go to kill birds, go to have fun with the kiddos. Just like taking em fishing for the first few times...it's all about having fun and not really about the fish.
