Yesterday tried out three new made from scratch sauces on some st. louie style ribs. The yard birds in the back also got some of the new sauce.

This is what I do with some of my free time while I wait for duck season.

Is the yellow one mustard based? I'm not a fan of mustard tasting sauces.

The yellow sauce is a peach sauce. Actually all three were peach bbq sauces. The different ingredients show you the different color possibilities while all being loaded with either peaches or peach preserves. The sauce in the middle was the best followed by the one on the right. All three would go good on some duck.

Is it duck season yet?

Not this time, I used sucklebusters. I like the peachy peach a lot, but I don't like that it has so much msg.

We need to try some of this on whole ducks or geese? A place I went to last year in Eagle Lake will pluck ducks for like $2 or 3 and geese for a buck more. Get a few fresh ones in the morning and start the cooker at noon and then start smoken them in time for an early dinner.

No those chickens do look pretty dark...but as me and Gene learned that doesnt mean the meat is burned. We kind of burned a chicken we cooked but it turned out awesome on the inside.

It doesn't take long to pluck a duck

Shoot...it takes long enough to know I don't want to do it very often.

Looks great!!!

I'm still grilling doves from last season! Grilled KC strips and bacon wrapped doves are a great combo.
