Ok guys I'm starting to put together funds for my 6.8 upper build. I want to shoot big mean armored mutant pigs and see them fall where they are. I went thru this same dilema when I bought my 5.56 upper. What twist do I want? With the 5.56 I went to the 1 in 7 and have been blown away with the accuracy improvement over the 1 in 9 that I started out with. Does the 6.8 go the same way? Tighter twist = bigger bullets and better accuracy?
Forgive me if I am waking a dead horse. But I want to do this only once.
Thank you for any info and opinions shared.

With the 6.8SPC anything over 130gr will take up too much case powder capacity from required seating depth to make magazine length. Staying under 130gr a 1x11 or 1x12 twist will be optimum. Mine has a 1x11 twist and shoots 115 grainers really well.

It has apx 80% of the performance of the 308 in a much lighter platform.
We have designed a 5 groove hybrid rifling similar to 5R with a low land to groove ratio to increase the bore area and lessen bullet deformation which leads to better accuracy, we have found that our 5R Melonite QPQ and S Carb. QPQ barrels consistently produce 60-90fps more than most SPCII 10 and 11 twist 4 groove barrels with the same loads. Hornady's 110gr HPBTs reach 2600fps from our 16" barrels and normally shoot under 3/4" groups at 100yds, with better shooters groups are 1/2" so they shoot better than some high dollar stainless barrels and most match grade 5.56s . Hornady's 120gr SST works very well on deer and hogs. With handloads it is possible to push a 100gr Nosler to 3000fps from a 16" barrel, nothing else with a 16" barrels comes close to the performance of a 6.8. The Melonite(QPQ) treated barrels we sell will last twice as long as stainless barrels and the final finish meets or exceeds stainless steel corrosion resistance.
The 6.8SPCII and 6.8x43 use the same ammo including SSAs Tac loads and Wilson Combats ammo
uses the same size dies, only the throat in the chamber is different.

16" Scout profile 6.8 barrels-4150 Melonite, hi perf cham, 11.25 twist 5R rifling

Ok looking at a Wilson Combat fluted with a 1-11 twist. Think that will be a good choice? I'm thinking that a .25 difference probably won't make that much difference. And I think that Wilson is top notch stuff. What do you guys think?

I believe all 11 twists are 11.25. From what I've seen that's been the case.
