Some pretty good spots in the western part of the state in the Ouachita and Ozark National forests. You planning a trip this year? I got some buddies that hunt over there for bear every year.

I shot i huge boar there loved it! To my estimates 7th largest modern firearms and largest in 2010. Got paper work back and state judge him at 9 yr old. I used a couple of local boys up there that bait, only problems is the woods are full of locals getting ready for deer season.

I have been trying to go on one there too.
I was looking to hunt in Meana, AR. But I haven't been able to find the guy I was going to go with. He was some sort of guide.

I booked a hunt for Sept 15 with a guide. He fills up fast and was lucky he had a spot for opening day in Zone 2. I spoke with a guy who went with him and he got a bear. I was told that he has a 80-90% sucess rate.
