My cousin said hunting ducks on lake brownwood was illegal and I'm pretty sure it's legal. Same thing with proctor. How do I find if it's pedal or not? We see ducks often on proctor and BWD and I want to start hunting them. But we can't if we can't find where it's legal. Where can I find or can someone tell me what all we need?

I like that one..... Man when in doubt on something, Texas Parks and Wildlife Home page at the bottom has a email link. Just email them and they will answer. I usually print out the answer and keep it with me. The best place to ask, is where they make the rules.

Kid,
Most of the work has been done for you and is in one place right at the top of this forum.

There is a sticky link at the top of the migratory forum called "Seasons, Regulations, Public Hunting, & Helpful Links"

There is a long outline of links in that sticky under the post "Public Waterfowl Hunting Opportunities and Areas in Texas"

If the link eventually leading to the regulations for your specific lake is not there use the one from that sticky titled "Texas Parks and Wildlife "Texas Lake Finder" site with contact information for each lake"

Then using that information call, email, or write your lake's controlling authority to get your answer straight from the horses mouth.

Duck hunting is allowed on Brandy Branch, but you have to stay in the boat.

I don't carry change, but I love breaking bills!

Just about ever lake in Texas has one of these websites through TPWD and has the controlling authority listed at the bottom with all the contact info you need. Google is your friend.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/brownwood/

Copy and pasted from said website:

Reservoir Controlling Authority

Brown County Water Control and Irrigation District No. 1
PO Box 118
Brownwood, Texas 76804
(325) 643-2609
