They are having a 1000yd qualifier at Tac Pro shooting range in Mingus this Sunday. Must be with a member and only cost 25.00 to shoot. Myself and two other buddies are going so if anyone is intersted it would be cool to meet some other THF members out there. I know its fathers day but the shoot will be from 10:00-12:00 so you will still have plenty of time to be with the family later that evening . here is my rig im taking

I've never shot at a range than 100y or taken game at more than 150y. I doubt I could hit anything at 1000y, but it would be fun to try.
You shoot off a bench not prone right (man I hate shooting prone).

Can you still qualify if you don't have a clue on 1000y dope?

It's going to be a show all tell all type qualifier. If you give me the specs on what round you are shooting I can get you a dope chart. I don't know the dope on mine unless I take my cards with me.

Print off the chart laminate and tape it to the stock. That way you always have the dope for that rifle with it.

Approximately how many rounds would someone need to bring (50 or so)?

Better get something heavier than 168 grain bullets to keep them supersonic at 1000 yards. Suggest 175 or 178

The 168gr Hornady super performance are about 200 fps faster than the federal Gold metal match and seem to be a good round for a 1000yds but I do have some 175 gr that I can use as well

Go with the 175 FGGM if you're not running hand loads. The drop will be between 9.5 and 11.0 MILs. Depending on DA. Lately its been up around 2000 to 2800 so you should be closer to the10 MIL range.

Alright then. I've seen lots of people get very frustrated with 168s at the 1000 line. Due to poor BC which equates to low velocity and suceptibility in the wind.
Just trying to help.
