Ok, I know a slug gun is mainly for deer hunting but is it a smart choice for turkeys? I was only going to use it for turkey hunting. My .45cal muzzle-loader, .243 Winchester, 30.06 springfield take care of the deer. What are is yalls opinion?

A fully rifled slug gun will let you reach out much farther than the tightest turkey choke with pellets. Some like to call turkeys in close before shooting them, which is great if you have a decent amount of turkeys. I don't even see turkeys each spring season, so I carry a 12g slug so I can collect one even if its more than 100 yards away.

A slug gun is the best all around turkey weapon available today.
Aim for center mass.

If you shoot them with a slug will there be any meat left to eat?

I'm not being facetious, I don't understand the purpose of using a slug unless it doesn't expand and just punches a hole through the turkey that is the same diameter of the slug and no bigger.
