It's called raffia grass. Academy puts it on sale for $5 a bag, think it's on sale now. Then we just used some camo colored spray paints.

I normally go real lite on the grass, I just don't like to carry extra weight, and I think it looks fine with little grass. I have had the same Avery killerweed on my blind for 4 seasons, this season will be the 5th. And I just tied it on..

You can also buy raffia grass at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

You can also buy raffia grass at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I have found that the raffia from there picks up a lot more cockle burrs than the grass from cabelas, and the money you spend on spray paint to tone it down just doesn't save you that much money in the end.

Academy had the big bundles that normally go for $20 marked down to $5. Looks like you found the same thing.
The more grass you get on one, the better I think

I have wal mart and hobby lobby raffia grass on my blind and it's held up pretty good.
they actually sell two different types, curly raffia and straight raffia. The straight raffia is the same as what they sell at Cabelas or Academy.
The curly raffia is finer grass and when it gets wet it mats up and catches everything.
It is probably more expensive to buy it from hobby lobby or wal mart because the packages are small.
I bought from them because I needed it, I didn't want to pay shipping, and I live in BFE.

Used 3 1/4 bags. We wanted as much fake stuff on there as possible so we don't have to spend a ton of time brushing at location.

Lol...no kiddin' I'm just thinking a few on each leg and a few on your chest to break you up a little. I have a field that floods after a big rain and the birds LOVE it but I only get to hunt it a couple of times a season...not worth buying a layout to me. Right at shooting hours it's awesome but after 20 minutes the birds start flaring cause I'm just laying in a pasture next to the deeks...

I need to get some other colors. I try to match the surroundings but they are always changing. Good: Not so good:
