anyone ever hunt in Orange County Texas. I have a buddy looking at a piece of undeveloped property to hunt on. Just loooking for some feedback. The county has antler restrictions. Does that mean one buck outside 13 inches can only be taken per season?

Thanks...

County Regs in full ---> TPWD Orange county

One 13" or wider and 1 with at least one unbranched antler, or, 2 with at least one unbranched antler and none (0) 13" or wider.
For the full explanation, click here ---> TPWD AR

My GF lives in orange. I've seen lots of deer running around out there. Never hunted it though.

I grew up in SE Texas, and yes there are a lot of deer there but AR's make legaly taking a buck very hard now. Lot's of hunters there also.

I have family off of HWY 12 between (cough, cough) Vidor and Mauriceville and I wouldn't hunt out there if it was free and I was the only one on the place.

I will say that one of my customers used to hunt somewhere out there and killed nice bucks every year. My experience, however, is that meth labs would likely do better in Orange than wildlife.
