I've been working on a big fiber project in West Texas since March 5 this year. Been all over West Texas, from Sterling City to San Angelo, Sonora, Ozona, Mertzon, Barnhart, Big Lake, Ft Stockton, Midland, Iraan, Grandfalls, etc., etc., etc., and I have seen exactly 0 deer. Not one live deer. And that's traveling early morning, mid day, evening, night.

Is it really that bad out there?

Work in glasscock and howard county, live in taylor. I have to dodge them on the way to work every morning. Seeing lots of really really heavy doe, fawn crop should be double last years.

Do you have a siren blasting coyote calls from your truck as you drive around?

Maybe deer are able to leave the roadsides and forage in the pasture for a change and that is why you did not see any, many, or whatever you did not see.

The rains we have received have caused a massive bloom of weeds and forbs that deer like to eat. Drive around come July or August and you will see plenty in the bar ditches.

Ha it will be the new South Texas if these rains keep up... right now we are lucky enough to get one of the stationary thunderstorms in Crockett County. we literally have more rain in a month then the last couple years haha
