how often do you turn on the light when calling at night? I know there are lots of different ideas, but i'd like to hear them.

I've heard you need to be looking with a light the whole time. Thats hard to do with a rechargeable spotlight but if you miss the yote because your light isn't on, then you've wasted the opportunity.

I keep mine on all the time. I patched in an extension cord to mine where I could be in the back of the truck with plenty of slack. Have great success since I started using this method.

Keep the light on the whole time. The quicker you can get the light in their eyes, the more chance you have of them not seeing the truck and busting you

This is my third year to coach. Spent one year in Rotan and moved to SA. I coach at a Middle School, have 2 more weeks of basketball left.

Keep the light on the whole time.... Besides being able to see something coming in, if you turn the light on while the animal is coming in you will spook it alot of times..... I personally do not like the q-beam lights.... Too heavy and too bright....

Q-beams do get hot on warm nights and they are heavy. i double lenzed mine and it semed to help on the brightness.any light is heavy when you hold it on for 30 minutes or more! i dont keep it on all the timefor the most part. i let the terrain dictate how much light i use,ie, brushy vs open.i am thinking of building a constant lighting system of some sort on a pedastal that will shine constant all the time with out having to hold it.(a work in progress!) Rusty- thought i had seen your name on thOld Coach! lol
