In my opinion....I am for open carry just as a principle of our Second Amendment Rights. I would open carry in certain situations like when on hunting trips, maybe while traveling (open in car) etc... On the other hand.....If it does pass I will continue to carry concealed in public. This is just my preference for a couple of reasons.
1) If in a situation where a bad guy is a threat to me or others around me I don't want to be his first target in an effort to neutralize me.
2) In a situation like the one above I want the element of surprise on my side.
3) I don't want to have people unduly alarmed just by my presence.
Just my .02

If you could carry open... Would you?
For some reason open carry has always made me think freedom.. Still I am sure the state will have to collect on it.. Like they do with the CHL.. I like the mystery of who's carrying. I have a picture in my mind of eating at a nice restaurant and some punks come in, lock the door and announce they are robbing the place and everyone in it. Promptly 90% of the patrons draw on the perps as they crap their pants.

They've had it for years in Colorado..blows some of the greenhorns minds when they see someone walking around w/a handgun on...plus it seems to give some folks a lot of false courage and I've seen a few problems when words were exchanged..But I don't hunt up there anymore, so don't have to worry about the out of state property owners..ect...DD

Why would you want the attention (negative or positive) of open carry? I think carrying concealed is the best option for the carrier, and is the best option for the public. IMO, I think there are way too many issues with open carry. I like knowing that the CHL person has at least taken a course to know some laws and passed a shooting test, even though it's very easy to pass. So, no, I wouldn't carry openly. I would and do carry concealed. People in other states OC just fine.

I like it the way it is. I think open would cause more trouble than it's worth. So because you don't like it, the rest of us' rights should continue to be trampled. Sounds just like a liberal.

You lose the advantage of suprise 4. Allowing people who may have little to no firearm expeirince to carry a gun in public is just not something I look forward to. What do you really gain? Besides letting everyone know "hey, this guy has a gun". Uh people with no experience are already carrying.

I don't have my CHL and probably will never carry open, but I was all for the CHL and will support an open carry law. See no reason to fight against a bill that verifies my Rights.
(I will get a CHL eventually)
