As long as you don't have any complications with your pregnancy there's no reason to change what you have been doing in the past, other than heavy lifting. Staying active while pregnant is good for you. You may get tired easier than before but a nap between hunts is all it took for me.
Congratulations.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

Congrats on the bun! My wife's doctor recommended against it, just as a precaution.

My son was born April 2009. My wife killed a deer using her 25-06 the November before. NO PROBLEMS at all. Side note: We asked her doctor about eating deer meat while prego. His reply, "Pregnant women have been eating wild animals and having babies for 80,000 years or so. It won't hurt anything." CONGRATS!

My sister has three boys that were born in late December. Those three years she shot her three biggest bucks. Being pregnant was her good luck charm.

Well I am only almost 5 weeks pregnant and I am NOT about to miss out on deer and dove season.

Take your Doctors advise, and you know your own limitation. Have fun and enjoy the outdoors. Maybe switch to a 410, 20ga, and light recoil rifle with good shot placement. cheers

My wife shot her first deer with a thompson 7mag when she was 5 months pregnant, she also shot skeets at our family gathering in sept. when she was a couple months preg. IT DID AFFECT OUR SON!!!! he is 16 months old now and he walks around with toy gun shooting everything!. LOL just playing he turned out fine our doc told us it would not bother her preg.

Follow the doctors advice, but here's something to note. My wife was 3 weeks pregnant when we went to a fleetwood mac concert 3 years ago. There's one part where they crank up the base so loud for about a second your bones shake. He was ok through that, so the sound waves of a gunshot out in the open shouldn't be an issue.

My wife and I avoided her shooting while she was pregnant. The sound is only one concern, its the lead, and other compounds you will inhale and get on your skin and therefor into your body that was the main concern for us. Its one or two seasons if your going to b-feed for a year or more.

The more research that keeps coming out on autism disorders, cancer in kids, etc tell me to keep all chemicals etc away from pregnant ladies and young kids. A little restraint for a potentially much healthier life for your kid.

Your body and your family your call at the end of the day but if it were me I'd take a pass on this season and let your husband bring home the meat alone this year...

Good luck and god bless on the new addition.

M y wife gave birth to our daughter April 21st and she took a buck with her .243 last November. We were concerned too but after consulting a doctor we were not worried.

Congrats! Hunt girl. We have three kids and my wife hunted with all of them. Just stay cool during dove season. The heat will be your problem!

An excellent reason to get a suppressor. smile

As long as your outdoors, I wouldn't worry about lead.
