What can be done to take the rattle out of the Spring In The Stock when Rifle Cycles on an AR15?

You can go a flat coil spring, or "old school" put some wheel bearing grease on it!

JP rifles came out with a self contained buffer unit a while back. It's basically a nylon buffered captured spring with a guide rod.

I actually LOVE hearing that spring... Something about it reminds me of what I am shooting and screams fun and accuracy!!!

Just shoot it. Eventually you wont notice it anymore.

Not [Whining] I'm asking a Legitimate Question. I'm just getting into long distance target shooting and it is annoying hearing the spring rattle through my muffs. Some on here aren't as knowledgeable as others I see.
If you can't answer my question with a reasonable answer just keep drinking your Jameson 18 at 3 in the morning and move on....Thank You back

I don't like the sound of the spring either. Hearing rattling and scraping makes me think instinctively that something's wrong with the tool I'm using. I'd actually love to have one of the JP buffers, just don't want to cut loose of the cash.

It was a reasonable answer. It's a semi-auto so you're going to hear noise. Those hydraulic buffers aren't as reliable so the one and only solution is to stop whining and shoot it. Millions of people have dealt with the noise just fine. Now you're more knowledgeable.

The JP buffer isn't hydraulic. It's a captive spring, just like the guide rod in an XD. Serves the same purpose as a standard buffer/spring, it just doesn't come into contact with the wall of the buffer tube.

Do you have an A2 stock with the trap door?

Stuff it full of red shop rags, helps quiet down the twangggggggg!

Youngster, I have seen your antagonizing posts in the past. Seems all you want to do on here is pad your post count and stir up chit. I am looking for legitimate solutions, not the ramblings of an obvious "knows it all" hacker. When & if you gain any knowledge about anything significant, feel free to advise: until then ....
