I went down to my ranch on the Texas coast today with the intention of doing some work. It was real wet so I decided to do a little varmint calling.

I got out the old Foxpro and placed it about a hundred yards downwind. I hit the remote and within a minute I saw a bobcat coming down a sendero. I could have shot then but it looked like a small one so I held my fire. He headed into the brush toward the caller. I grabbed my Cooper .22BR and waited. Nothing. I picked up my binoculars and scanned the brushline. Sitting underneath a tree looking at the caller was a full grown bobcat.

Man, that cat was hard to see as it blended in perfectly with the surrounding brush. I eased off the safety and took the shot. Here is a picture of the results.

That'll make a nice set of mittens for your kid.

She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.

Thats a good lookin cat! I got one this year during archery season. I saw him about a hundred yards down the fence and called to him just for a second and he came runnin! Gave me a 20 yard shot sittin down, it was really neat to be able to get him with my bow!
