What do you recommend in 9mm for concealed carry? Not sure what most people carry in this caliber but would appreciate any input.

A pistol that you can shoot accurately and that fits good in your hands. Do your research first and make a list of one's you want to try. Then I'd recommend going to a gun range that allows you to test fire pistols you are interested in. I personally like the Kahr PM series (PM9 and PM40). They are compact and easy to carry. But a Glock G26 or G19 is hard to beat for the size, weight and the amount of rounds you can carry. Glocks are not the sexiest pistol around, but they flat out shoot and are 100% reliable. I personally like a 40 cal better than 9, and like a 10mm Auto even more.

I shot a Beretta Nano and really liked it, very accurate and was going out to buy one until S&W came out with the Shield, going to try that one now.

I have a G19, good gun, just a little too big for me to CC.

I've tried a bunch, but the easiest one I've found to carry is a Kel Tec P11. They're not the prettiest or the finest weapon made but they are a great compromise of size and capacity. Mine has been 100% reliable with whatever I've fed it. 11 rds in a package that size is very hard to argue with.

If the KT brand scares you then there are a lot of choices- in a medium frame the G19 wins almost hands down. As far as subcompacts go, there are a slew of them- S&W M&Pc, XD9SC, Taurus PT111, Ruger SR9C.

It's hard to find a pistol from a reputable manufacturer these days that isn't 100% reliable, its really more a question of what feels good in your hand, what you shoot well, and what your daily attire and routine are like. If I had my druthers I'd carry a CZ 75 or Sig 226 but that would be very impractical.

Ruger LC9 would be a good option also.

I use an ruger LC9
350 rounds down the pipe so far without a hicup
I use a n82tactical pro holster for it and it is comfortable to wear all day, even in shorts and a tee-shirt while walking on a trail.

The new S&W MP Shield looks pretty nice also

I was thinking of getting an LC9 as my dad has one and likes it, but he said the trigger was very long( as it is intended to be for CCW) , so now I am looking at the new S&W M&P "Shield". It gets good reviews and fits my needs for a small CCW in 9mm.

I carry a glock 26, but am also thinking of giving the new S&W shield a try.

i believe you should decide what gun you want to count on to protect your life then decide how to conceal it. size should be secondary.

i am cancelling my subscription, i am tired of your issues!

100% correct. This is why I recommend getting something you can shoot well. I like my Kahr PM40, but it is little and more difficult to accurately shoot. This is why I carry a G29 in 10mm Auto. It is a little bigger, and I don't care if I print a little bit. A good IWB holster can conceal just about anything you want.

I just picked up s shield, and it is awesome! I have been carrying for about 3 years, and it is by far the most comfortable pistol for me to carry. My carry gun for the last year has been an M&P .40c with a Kimber Super Carry Pro in the cold months.

I had been looking for the shield for several weeks now, with no luck, than I stumbled upon B&S guns in Garland and they had 2, so I snagged one. I bet you they still have one left, if you want to check it out.

I completely agree too.
I love my G19 because I shoot it well and it's always accurate and super reliable. Those are the same reasons why I carry it everyday.

If you want light, thin, compact and reliable try a Kahr P9. Glocks are bigger and heavier but are reliable.

Having tried most everything out there I've yet to find anything more user friendly and accurate than my old SIG 239.

Have you tried the Walther PPS? They make them in 9 and 40. Awesome carry gun about an inch wide and light weight to boot. Had it in a Crossbreed ST holster and barely noticed it was there.

Sig 226, Fnx, Glock, or M&P

A 1911 SA or any single stack and you might as well carry two j-frames

If I'm not carrying a full size service pistol then I have a j-frame in the m&p or pd (ti) series for the light weight

Great topic. I just recently updated my daily CC weapon from a Walther PPK to a 9MM. I personally don't care for polymer weapons, and don't mind the extra weight of a metal gun. I had been reading about the older 3rd Gen. S&W's and thought I would give it a try. I found one on CDNN for $329 and ordered it. Aluminum frame, stainless slide & barrel. Double stack. Weighs only a little more than the Walther, and yet carries twice as many rounds, and more powerful to boot. Mine is the model 6906. I can't believe they are selling these so cheaply. Supposedly mine was issued to California Dept. of Corrections. The gun looks like it has never been shot! Seriously! No wear at all on the slide, sharp rifling, no powder inside the action, magazine, or barrel.. Anyway, if you can stand a little weight, and like all metal (alloy) guns-look into the S&W 6906. I shot mine at the range and it is extremely accurate putting a full magazine into a 5" circle at 25 ft. Could have done better but I was practicing the DA trigger as well as single action mode.

I carried a Sig 239 in 9mm and now I carry one in .40 caliber. I've carried XDs, , Bersa, Taurus and Glocks,, but I prefer my 239 over all of them.
