Due to some last minute back-outs we have two openings on our deer lease in Llano County. It is $1500 per year, 800 acres and 6 guns total. $750 due on the first weekend in May and $750 due on opening day of rifle season, or you can pay it all at once if you wish. It is a year round lease with hogs(lots), turkey, deer and dove. The animals all taste really good, I can vouch for that. You will likely need a 4 wheeler depending on the location of your hunting area and a small to medium camper(No Prevosts or 5th wheels). We have a cabin as a communal area that has propane, water, electric, fridge, freezer, full kitchen. It even has a bed but if you like privacy I would stay with getting a camper. It is very thick cover on the lease with live oak and cedar. No big open fields anywhere but there are some "open" areas to hunt from. No kids under 18 are permitted and no "hunting buddies" or guests other than your spouse or significant other. Its fine to drink in camp just don't go out hunting drunk, we don't want any accidents. If you tend to get rowdy or have spats with your significant other this won't be the place for you. We are looking for good hunters, NOT "shootem' ups", or "I fell off my four wheeler cause I dropped my whiskey bottle on my midnight ride" types. If you are this type of person you will not be hunting there very long and will have wasted your money. We prefer members to feed year round, it doesn't matter what type just something. We had some members last year that like to float to other members hunting areas and not put feed in their own feeders. Basiclly they like to use other's areas to hunt and float around as they please as well as bring their family and freinds to hunt, thats why we "HAD" these members and not "HAVE" these members. A member's area is their area and you must get permission to hunt it. Its very easy to tell if an area has been disturbed, its not rocket science. Its a laid back lease, we just don't tolerate "riff raff" because each member puts a lot of time and $$$$ into preparing for the hunting season.

Feel free to call me if you are interested or have other questions at 972-523-8259, or shoot me pm on here. If you have a lot of questions just call, I can talk faster than I can type. We are going down to the lease this coming weekend 4/20 and 4/21 and would be happy to show you around. You will need to bring a 4 wheeler to see it all. Remember we only have two spots so don't get your feelings hurt if they get filled. If you feel like you may not be able to abide by the rules then please do not waste our time. Sorry if the rules seem a little rough but I believe in being up front and honest from the get go about expectations, that way there is clarity and and no suprises down the road.

THat's what it looks like. Sad really more and more leases are doing this. If you don't bring your kids up hunting, the futre of hunting is doomed.

None. Its not a family lease. Trust me, I'm itching to bring my 14 year old. As I understand it, some years ago a members son hurt himself on a four wheeler and was joking around about suing. The land owner didn't like the joke and its been no kids every since. They just don't like all the extra foot traffic and I don't blame them. We have been know to make exception if its a grown child(over 18) or even a buddy coming down to help you erect a stand or do some work that you just couldn't do by yourself. That kind of stuff is fine in moderation. We know there are some things that just need extra hands and its good to have someone with you in case of emergency. We just don't want a bunch of free hunters to start showing up all the time. Its a nice quiet get-away down there. My son gets to go hunting with his grand dad in Sweetwater. If he didn't at least get to do that I would have already found another place.

I took this one 2 years ago. This is the potential there. I have seen two other younger deer with his genetics, so the gene pool is still alive. The rack growth this deer had in one year was amazing. I watched him as a 9 the year before. Glad I let him walk. I just happened to get him to stick his head out on a doe bleet for quick second, otherwise I would have never seen this deer. I knew he was in the area but only had one photo of him at 4:00 am, and it was a blurry photo. He was about 136.

This is a deer that acted much like the other one. Very hard to pattern. I did finally pattern him at the end of the year and I had already used my two tags. I have pics of him in mid Jan., so he made it. Maybe this year. This deer and the next deer are common sizes for our area.

This is a buck from this past year too. He's no longer with us.

These deer, I mean the older bucks anyway, do not like to come out much or hit the feeders. They are there, but they skirt the woods and keep their distance. You really have to work to know where they are moving and do your homework to make your opportunity. Just sitting in the stand will get you a cull buck and some does.

Well the scouting, moving stands and working to get one works for me but the old man I hunt with is a sitter. Thanx for the info though. Maybe the pics will help others.

Its not like you have to chase them down. I guess I should clarify. I just mean you may have to watch a different trail, or throw up colapsable blind, or simply sit behind a tree to watch the trails that lead around the feeder in order to get a good buck. I've always been sitting and waiting, it just wasn't always in my main stand. It may have been off to one side or the other, or a deer trail behind the feeder.

Sounds like you need a guy with no kids or a dad, lol! Rules are rules and I respect that. If you don't like them them leave them alone!

Might be tough to find people on here though. Pretty family oriented group here!

Its good to set expectations up front, so there should be no misunderstandings.

Up. Going to the lease this weekend to show it and move some stuff. Got one guy going to look that seems committed, but still have one more spot to fill. Let me know if you want to come down and look. Be prepared to pay half to the land owner as money is typically due this weekend.

Llano is 27 miles east of Mason on 29, and northeast of fredericksburg, west of burnet, Southeast of Brady. Hope that helps I hunt in Mason on family property and love that area of Texas. May not always be the biggest deer but usually plenty of them.

One spot filled this weekend, one spot left. Got some good rain out there last night and wicked lightening too.
