Bullet is hornady 129gr sst. I've gotten a few loads done up but was wondering what has worked for others with this weight. Rifle is a Remington 700 with 22" barrel.

I have done quiet a bit of loading with the 129gr SST but have not yet tried it with IMR4350. I do have the powder but have always had more luck with RL19. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Your sweet spot will be between 43.2 and 44.6 grains. Load up in .3 grain increments around 4 rounds each, and see what groups the best. When you find a few good loads, load up more of those rounds to test further.

Depending on barrel length and how fast your barrel runs, you will run about 2850 to 2980. I was running 2950 fps with a 130 VLD with a 27" barrel. I set the barrel back to 23", and with the same load I'm now running 2848 fps. But the barrel has 3500+ rounds down it, so it's getting worn out and slower. With a stiff load near max, you should be running 2900 to 2950 fps.

4064 will work in the 260 but is a little fast burning for the heavier bullets. Nosler lists IMR 4064 as the most accurate powder in the 260 with 100 grain bullets.

4064 will work, but you will lose some velocity compared to 4350 with the 139/140 class bullets. I know several shooters that use Varget and it is very accurate. But they are running about 100 fps slower than H4350. If you plan to shoot the light weight bullets (95 and 100 grain), 4064 would be a good choice.

24" Obermeyer chambered in .260, 1:8.4 twist
44.2 gr. H 4350 130 gr. Berger VLD 2850 fps on the 50 th round.
It's got 120 rounds on in now so it could be faster than that initial measurement.

Does IMR 4064 work very well in 260 Rem? It works great with 120's which is what I shoot.
