I think the A5 is a fine shotgun. I have a friend that is fanatical about duck hunting and that's all he shoots. He hunts every morning of duck season before he comes to work and swears by the A5. He used to shoot a Berretta but said it spent more time at the gunsmiths than it did the duck blind. He said his A5 has never had to go. I would like to find a Jap A5 for myself to hunt with.

i too am old school i guess, i have benelli, beretta, 11/87's etc, but my old a5 16ga gets shot more than anything else. i prob shoot 3 cases of hb lead 5's a year just at crows then throw in squirrels and rabbits over dogs. I love it. if i ever start duck huntin again i will take it as well! it kills turkey well too

May have to try the new a5 just for the heck of it, always need an excuse to buy another gun.

I have an A5 2 3/4- 3inch 28inch barrel it hardly kicks a bit. I may be wrong on this but didnt they make a Recoil chambered model and a gas chambered? My dad has one that kicks twice as hard as mine.

Sounds like all this "hard Kicking" is some users of "The finest Auto Shotgun ever built" not having all the rings set up right!!!

When you have to baby a gun to "set it up right" that's a problem right there. I like to have a shotgun that you just put it together one way and it eats whatever you feed it. Granted back in the day it was the finest auto-loader just as the Commodore 64 was an awesome computer....but both have been passed up by newer innovation and technology.

I dont set nothing up on mine...i spray it down with remoil when im done for the day and put it back in its sock....i still take it duck hunting even on the nasty days...gets muddy, wet, beaten up just like all my other guns...ole girl still shoots like a champ and i cant make it jam....i let my buddy shoot it last year and he sold his superblack to get an A5... some guns just fit other people better. I do think mine is an A500 though
