Hi everyone, I recently bought a TC Omega rifle after hearing some good things about it.I just put a Bushnell Trophy 3X9 on it but haven't sighted in yet. What is your opinion? I am also going to try some 777 powder. I would appreciate any input.

I have heard the Omega is a top notch bp rifle. I would recommend using Perodex or Triple 7 pellets and Power Belt bullets, since the Omega was designed specially for the Power Belts.

Go with the Hodgdens 777 pellets over the pyrodex, it cleans up a lot easier out of my CVA.

I got an Omega on sale at BassPro around Christmas of 2003 it is the SS barrel with the camo stock. I have a Bushnell Elite 3x9 on it, and it has been a great combination. I loaded it with 2 powdex 50gr. pellets and a Hornady XPS 240gr. 44cal bullet in a sabot. I was shooting 1" groups at 100yards in the 10 ring.

Nice purchase.
I've also got an omega, it's great and I shot a big doe with it last year and she dropped like a stone. I haven't gotten the right bullet for it yet, accuracy wise. About 2" groups at 60 yards. Not that the deer care, I guess. I'll try those 240 gr XTPs.
The 777 is great, cleans up like a champ. I heard it's almost totally non-corrosive, but I haven't tried testing that theory out yet (and won't).
Relating to accuracy, I got a williams wgrs aperture rear sight for mine, but haven't shot it yet. I expect it'll be sweet. Nice sight picture and nice long sight radius. I had the older thompson factory sights (pre williams) which are so bright they look like night sights, but I think the 100 yard accuracy will get way better with the aperture. I'll let ya'll know....

Hoofinit, I think you will really like the Williams WGRS. I had one put on my CVA St Louis Hawken. Of course peeps cut down on your hunting time. I did put a larger aperture on mine. You can also remove the aperture at dawn and dusk and use the sight as a ghost ring sight. I think you will be able to cut your group size about in half. I usually get three shot sub 1-1/2" groups with my Hawken off the bench at 50 yards. If I had younger eyes I could probably shave some off that.
