It is somewhere on the San Saba river, has stands and he does the feeding but $40 an acre

Well, I hope he doesn't lease it. It will take hunters saying "no way" to high lease prices. That would eventually drive prices down. But that aint gonna happen. Someone with cash to spend will pay it.

I called on a place in San Saba also yesterday and he wants to put 6 guns on 500 acres at $2500 per gun. No stands, no feeders, but did have a cabin though. Still, it looks like the price of leases has really jumped this year. I can't find anything that sounds half way interesting for under $2000 and even then they are still just marginal. The search goes on...

There is a reason why these leases are available in the first place... At those prices much better deal to save money for two years and go shoot a nice mgmt buck at a package place. And have plenty of money left over for a dove lease and a turkey hunt or two.

That's the mindset we all need!

And, yes, I'm a landowner...
