My biddy has one and I think it's a great little gun. I've shot several times. I don't know the complete history of the gun, but his is old enough to where it says "Made in West Germany" as opposed to just Germany. The trigger is not as nice as the modern P226/229 but still very accurcate.

Depending on it's condition, the gun is probably worth around $350 to $500 is my guess. There are also places were you can send it to get it completely refinished as well.

All in all, I have no idea what your overall gun situation is but I would keep it. I just don't feel like you'll get equal value for what it can do if you try to trade it or sell it from something else.

If it's in great condition it could be worth more than $500, the triple serial numbered German Sigs are highly thought of by Sig fans due to superior workmanship compared to the US made guns. Post up some pictures. I never understood it until I bought my P228 that was made in Germany in 1997. Barrel to slide fit is perfect and it is a very accurate gun. Shot much better than my Made in the USA in 2011 P239 SAS.

I would hold onto it. The west german sigs are nothing like the ones made here in the US.

The first Sigs we issued back in 90/91/92 era were made in Germany. The first 3 on serial was U418. When we traded those in and went with the 226 DAK were made in Exeter, NH. @ the Sig plant
My P239 is older, they only made 9mm back then, later 40/357 Sig.
It shows NH build also with an SA prefix on serial number

I just recently picked one up and couldn't be happier with mine. I don't think I'll ever sell it.
