A couple of years ago I picked up a model 700 in .280 Rem that I can't really identify as to a particular model. It is Kevlar stocked with a blued 26" light contour barrel. It also has a hinged floorplate. The closest thing I've been able to find on the internet is a the Custom KS Mountain Rifle. Anyone know if this is what I've got, or am I just hoping that's what it is?

I dont know much about the Remington Custom Shop guns, but I do know that the early model production mountian rifles had hinged floor plates before switching over to the detachable mag design.
You may have one of the early Custom KS Mountain Rifles with the hinged floor plate is why you are haveing a hard time finding another one like yours. But like I said I dont know my Custom Shop stuff that well.
Can you post some pics?

It's definitely not for sale. Probably one of the best rifles I own. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can.

A customm shop rifle has the caliber markings on the barrel much closer to the reciever than the standard Rem. rifles where the markings are about half way down the barrel towards the crown.
Those of you who do not stand behind our millitary, please stand in front of it!!!
