I have been looking for a small gun for my mother to carry from time to time when she gets her CHL. I came across a taurus 380 "mini" revolver and it seems to be a good fit since she is not comfortable with semi autos and a .38 too much for her. The only problem is the trigger on this gun is extremely stiff and hard to pull back. I was told by several people that shooting the gun will not loosen the trigger and I can just expect it to stay stiff forever. The trigger is 3X harder than any of S&Ws and even my Taurus .357... Does anyone know any secrets? I would not mind spending a reasonable amount of money getting the gun worked on. Its a $350 gun brand new so anything too expensive would not be worth it to me. Thanks for the help.

have a gunsmith look at it, a polish job should help a lot.
America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. Claire Wolfe

They are notoriously heavy. Depending on your level of ability you can do a spring swap on it yourself. Wolff sells a kit, I'm assuming it's an 85 though I've never heard of one in .380. It comes with a reduced power mainspring and return spring that help considerably.

I honestly don't know. If it's built on the 85 frame then I don't see why not, but I can't find anything on Taurus's website that shows what frame its built on.

If its for CCW I would want to mess with any of the springs myself. I would contact taurus as see what they suggest doing.

That is a pretty cool looking gun, wish I could help with the springs, but that gun has my interest to replace my Keltec in 380.

I agree its is an unusual gun and I think ideal for a woman to carry who can't operate a semi auto comfortably. I just wish it came with a decent trigger.

Honestly the best advice I can give is to sell it and get a Ruger LCR revolver......best carry firearm for a woman, period.
Uprisings started or quelled, tornadoes rerouted, elections rigged.

I was trying to stay away from the recoil of a .38, but I might have to go that way. I have handled an LCR but never shot one. What do you like better about the LCR compared to S&Ws? I have a 642..

The main advantage is the very light pull of the double action trigger and the light weight of the gun itself. I'm a S&W man myself but Ruger hit a home run with the LCR 38.
Plus no slide to have to pull back and no not knowing if there is one in the chamber or not.
