Hello Chris, glad to see you show up. You wouldn't happen to know a fellow by the name of Danny Messenger would you? lived out by the Lowood area last time I was over. He was managing a cattle station on the Brisbane river right on the Tai-pan bend. Right above the lake that supplies most of the water to Brizzy. I shot a couple stags like yours there, good lord man I hope you are eating them, they are some of the best meat in the world. Danny had no idea you even could, until I fried him some battered backstrap medium rare. Gday mate, I dont know danny, but i do eat some of the deer i shoot. these stags are fed to out hunting dogs tho. i like to mince the venison and make sausages. cheers

welcome, I like the picture of you without shoes hunting those wild cattle. Thats tuff right there. considering i was on a 1.5 million acre cattle station in a location that is home to the inland taipan and the king brown snake its kinda stupid not to be wearing boots...but oh well i survived LOL

Hey Chris. Hunted when I spent time in Australia in the mid 90's. Shot a few dingo's with a Rossi .45lc. Also killed a few roos and emus with a Nissan. Ha. hard to miss them sometimes.
I'm returning this year to Bribane and would love to participate. Gun laws there are tough as I remember.
Any hook up would be appreciated. Looking to go June, July & Aug.
Gday mate, gun laws are very tight. but i am licenced to own bolt, leaver and pump action rifles and shotguns(not pump action shotgun) There is no licencing on bows. i seem to do ok. If your im brisbane send me a PM and i will do my best to take you for a hunt.
cheers

welcome Chris, I was just in Brisbane about a year ago. My wife has to visit Mt. Isa for work every year and I usually tag along. My Mt. Isa friend said the gun regulations are really strict, involves hunting clubs and checking in all guns & ammo. When I was there tried to setup a hunt at least for pigs, but really couldn't find any outfitters in Queensland.
do you have experience with New Zealand Red Stag hunting? I have heard most of the big ranches with big Red Stag are high fence. Do you know of any good low fence places for Red Stag? Gday mate, I have no experience with New Zealand red stags, or any outfitters for that matter. The deer i hunt are on private property and a completely wild deer. best part about it is that there is NO HUNTING SEASONS, we can hunt em all year round cheers

Welcome aussiechris. Great pictures. No Shoes LOL That would never work around here with majority of the land covered with mesquite trees and thorns.

I have family that live on the gold coast around Murwillumbah from Texas, spent four months there two years ago. Hopefully going back soon for some fishing, maybe hunting as well. watch out for those tai-pans man, i had my share of run ins with the brown snakes and a red bellied black, but never saw a tai-pan though.
I also miss Tooheys and rugby league.

Me and a buddy actually rented an older Hilux and took it to Fraser Island. We put some rough miles on that rig.

Always wanted to take one of those wild cows for some reason. It sounds weird as hell here in the states. Me too!! I've done some reading and there may be a population of wild cattle that live in far SW Texas along the river. There is nothing more dangerous are elusive in Texas.

Hold your gun straight, and turn your cell phone sideways... when shooting video.
